Sunset Bay Hideaway is a unique waterfront property on beautiful Lake Wisconsin. Sleeps 10 total in Spring-Fall (Apr-Nov), 6+ in winter (Dec-Mar) . Enjoy our pier, swimming area, firepit, cable TV, high speed internet and our famous sunsets. Five minutes to the free car ferry to Merrimac, twenty minute drive to Devils Lake State Park, and just a twelve minute drive to Wollersheim winery and distillery. During the winter (December thru March) we offer three bedrooms plus a fold-out couch in the main cabin, therefore it sleeps 6+. We have one bathroom with shower in this main cabin and a second bathroom with shower in the garage near bedroom #3.. Due to potential ice or snow on steps we don't open bedrooms # 4. During the rest of the year (April thru November) we open all four bedrooms which sleep 10 people. The main cabin has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath with attached gazebo and party room overlooking the lake. Our 3rd bedroom is located in the modern garage next to a 2nd bath/shower AND a our large 4th bedroom is located above the garage with a 3rd bath with water-jetted tub for your enjoyment. In our home: Enjoy a charming remodeled 2 bedroom log cabin with cathedral ceilings throughout. The great-room includes a modern kitchen with gas oven and stove, a 4 person breakfast bar, dining room table for 8, new gas vented fireplace, and plenty of seating to soak up of the ambience of the lake and surrounding nature. Beautiful scenery right out your window with hundreds of acres to hike or stroll. We have a barn near the cabin with horses, peacocks and random free range fowl. They’ll be pecking outside the windows in the heat of the day. Conveniently located to all the bluffs have to offer – 5 minutes from golf/ski at Devil’s Head and hiking at Parfrey’s Glen, 10 min to Devil’s Lake, 15 minutes to Lake Wisconsin and 30 minutes to the Dells. Feel free to bring your boat, we'll tell you where you can put in on Lake Wisconsin. Nicely appointed if you’d like to eat in and close to some good restaurants if you want to go out. We’ll give you a list of our favorites as well as other local tips. We have acres of woods as well as trails through wild flower prairie to enjoy. You can enjoy complete privacy in your own cabin but we live right next door and are happy to tell you about the local spots. The cabin has one large loft bedroom with 2 beds and another bedroom on the first floor with one. It has an open area encompassing the living room, dining room and kitchen. The heat is from a wood burning stove and air conditioning is an effective window unit in the loft bedroom. We use it as a hunting cabin during deer season and it's decorated with many deer skulls which have been bleached. We have wifi and a smart TV. You won't hear cars here but the animals won't respect quiet hours. My mother lives in this cabin for 6 weeks when she visits from AZ so we’ve tried to make it as lovely as possible so we can keep her longer. NO luck! But now we’re putting it up for vacation rental for the rest of the season. Other things to note... Our barn is near the cabin so we will be there caring for the critters daily. You can see the barn from the cabin but it's still tucked away in the woods.

High season from May through September with minimum stay 3 nights and low season from October through April with minimum stay 2 nights. Our home is very comfortable and is perfect for families and friends "getaways" year round. This home is suitable for one or two families or a group of 10 -12 people. On the main floor house has an open floor plan with a fully equipped kitchen with microwave and dishwasher, dining area with a large table, living room with a fireplace and TV, 2 bedrooms with 2 Queen size beds and full bathroom. One of these bedrooms also has a TV. Upstairs is a spacious loft which overlooks the great room and is perfect for relaxing, playing games, or an extra sleeping area. The loft has 2 full sized beds and 1 full sized futon, and a door leading to a small balcony. The lower walkout level has another living area with a newly built wooden bar, full sized futon and TV. There are 2 bedrooms with Queen sized beds, full bathroom, and laundry room with a washer/dryer.
